Cub Camp
Hunter and Christopher joined forces to help make this spectacular cake. Actually, the whole family joined in and helped plan, cut, roll, and mix. The base is devils food cake with cookies and cream filling. The mountain is white almond cake with chocolate pudding filling. It's covered in homemade marshmallow fondant. The trees are sugar cones with buttercream and the water is covered with piping gel and some areas have royal icing mixed into it.The boys really worked hard. They made the cake, filling, fondant, icing, and sculpted most of the figures. Mostly I just helped assemble and pipe the buttercream onto the tress.
How cute are those faces. Christopher made the bear and the fish. He loved the sign in the background that says "no fishing," but fishing were being caught.
Hunter made this cute little wolf who is totally relaxing as he is going over a waterfall with a danger sign right next to him.

We wanted to represent all cubscout ranks so here is our tiger cub hiding in the forest. He was suppose to be hiding in an outhouse but at the last minute we couldn't get the outhouse to stand up.

What an incredible collaboration! I can't decide which is my favorite part of the cake. Love the fire and the faces; the whole scene makes me want to go camping!
