May the Force Be With You
Hunter's 9th and Christopher's 8th Birthday

For this double birthday party I use white cake and double fudge chocolate out of a box. Homemade buttercream frosting and marshmellow fondant. The boys got in on the action this time and helped mix in the color. They picked the colors for their favorite Star Wars heroes but the named elude me right now.

Pretty Pretty Purse
Elaina's 7th Birthday

Elaina wanted a pretty pink purse for her cake and was thrilled with the results. I would have like to have crafted a few accessories....cell phone, lipstick, or whatever else you find in a purse but I ran out of time. The cake is homemade double chocolate and the icing is just store bought vanilla. Buttercream is definitely better but again it was the time thing. I was thrilled with this cake because my marshmellow fondant came out beautifully!

Hannah Montana
Alix's 11th Birthday

Again another request from the birthday girl. The pictures don't do this cake justice as it probably is my best fondant cake to date! It took me hours and hourse to make and I think I only threw the fondant across the room once....okay maybe twice. The purple colors turned out beautifully and I was able to hide almost all of my mistakes. Best of all the birthday girl LOVED IT!

Patriotic Eagle
Blue and Gold Banquet

This is the cake Hunter and I made for his Blue and Gold Banquet. The theme was American ABC's. Per Hunter's request it was made from chocolate, funfetti, and cherry chip cake with lots of chocolate and white icing. The head feather are coconut and the beak, feet, eyes, and flag are all almond flavored fondant.

The Cat and the Hat and Norval the Fish

Jacen's First Birthday

Norval the Fish was a nice little chocolate cake with lots of blue buttercream frosting for the birthday boy to dig into. The hat was for the rest of the gang. I was a little dissapointed with the red color...I couldn't get it quite red enough. The Cat in the Hat on top of the large hat was piped with choocolate (I think it looks pretty cool). It was suppose to be standing up like it was popping out of the top of the hat but at the last minute it broke into several pieces so I just laid it down.

Candy Land Mountain
Mother/Daughter Cake Contest

Alix and I made this cake together for a culinary challenge. This delightful cake is made out of italian cream cake and my favorite itlian buttercream frosting. The cake was lightly soaked in a lemon syrup to keep it moist and covered with marshmellow fondant (2 batches). This was my first attempt at a 3 layer cake and I think it turned out beautifully. We used 4-6 dowels in each layer as well as cake rounds to give it the needed support.

You go girl! I like the eagle and the purse. Did you make your own fondant? Have you seen my website? David is working on it for me. I love your format and the pictures are great. I am still working on photography skills...
